The GVAPF was inspired by a news story of a nine year old boy named Zach in Central Florida who saw an increasing number of surrendered pets in his community shelters. When he asked why, the answer was that with the economic down turn many people could no longer afford to feed them. With the help of his parents, he started the Animal Pantry of Central Florida (http://www.animalpantry.org/) and is saving the lives of many animals.

Seeing a similar need in the Greater Victoria area, a small group of like minded individuals have formed the Greater Victoria Animal Pantry Foundation.

The Greater Victoria Animal Pantry Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer run organization. We believe that pets are an important part of all families. The animals provide love and understanding and often an emotional lifeline to their human companion, who otherwise would be isolated. In uncertain economic times many families find themselves needing to make difficult decisions about how and who gets fed that day. The GVAPF. intends to help reduce the stress by providing resources for proper (adequate) nutrition.

We operate strictly on donations (personal and local
businesses) and all donations go directly to our clients needs.
